Fractional Product Leadership
Fractional CPO: senior product leadership without the full-time hire
Strategy, execution, and the unglamorous detail work in between: 2-3 days a week. 10+ years building platforms, payments, and developer experience at Revolut, GitLab, Jimdo, and Hermes Germany.
The Situation
When a Fractional CPO Makes Sense
Founder-led product hit its ceiling: every roadmap call still runs through you.
Engineering ships, but nobody owns why: features stack up without a strategy behind them.
Platform, payments, or DX work needs product ownership your engineers respect.
A full-time CPO isn't in the budget yet. The problems already are.
Engagements
Three Ways to Work Together
Fractional
2-3 days a week · Typically 6-12 months
Embedded senior product leadership: roadmap, stakeholders, delivery. Part-time cadence, full accountability.
Interim
Full-time · Fixed term, 3-9 months
End-to-end cover for a product leadership gap: from first-week triage to a clean handover.
Advisory
A few hours a month · Open-ended
Sparring for founders and product leads: pressure-test strategy, unblock the hard calls.
Need full-time cover for a fixed term instead? That's an interim Head of Product engagement.
The Method
How I Work
The first month is listening: your team, your customers, your metrics, your codebase reality. Then we set a north star, cut the roadmap down to what compounds, and ship. I work in your tools, your standups, your leadership meetings. From 10,000-foot strategy to the detail work: both, deliberately.
My philosophy hasn't changed in a decade: great platforms are invisible. The same goes for great product orgs. Clear ownership, less friction, faster decisions.
Track Record
Proof, Not Promises
Engineering Culture
Making Developer Experience a Business Priority
Turned DevEx from an engineering-internal concern into a company-wide north star metric, moving a mid-sized SaaS org to the 75th percentile for developer experience in its cohort.
Payments & Infrastructure
Unifying Billing Across Three Legacy Systems
Led the strategic migration of the company's entire subscription base from three fragmented legacy systems into a single source of truth.
Reliability Engineering
Joining the Five Nines Club
Took infrastructure and APIs to 99.999% uptime in under a year, without a single customer-facing outage during the migration.

FAQ
Questions, Answered
What does a fractional CPO actually do?
The same job a full-time CPO does, on a part-time cadence: product strategy, roadmap ownership, stakeholder alignment, and coaching for your product team. I'm in your standups, your leadership meetings, and your org chart. Not a consultant on the sidelines.
How is this different from hiring a consultant?
Consultants recommend, then leave. A fractional CPO owns outcomes: I make the calls, carry the roadmap, and answer for the results. The deliverable is a working product org, not a slide deck.
How many days a week do I get?
Two to three days a week works for most companies. Enough to own strategy and unblock teams, lean enough to stay affordable. If you need less, an advisory setup covers it.
How long does an engagement run?
Typically 6 to 12 months. Long enough to ship real change, short enough to stay honest. No lock-in: if it stops adding value, we stop.
Remote or on-site?
Remote-first across Germany and Europe, on-site when it matters: kickoffs, workshops, leadership offsites. Based in Germany, fluent in German and English.
What does it cost?
Scoped per engagement, depending on cadence and duration. Book a discovery call and you'll leave with a concrete number, not a range.
Ready When You Are
One discovery call: 30 minutes, no pitch. You'll know if this fits.
